An uncapped flue takes in rain, snow, leaves and the occasional bird, and lets embers out over a dry roof. This Shelter cap solves both ends of that for the price of an afternoon: a black powder-coated hood over a galvanized mesh cage, clamped straight onto the flue tile with a screwdriver. It is the large adjustable size, so one cap covers most common tile dimensions.

Key features include:

  • Shelter by HY-C, model SCADJ-LL - the LARGE adjustable size
  • Adjusts to fit outside flue tile 9x18, 12x16, 13x13 and 13x18 in, plus 8x17, 10x17 and 13x17 in oval
  • Hood keeps rain and snow out of the flue; the mesh keeps birds, animals and leaves out and arrests sparks
  • Built heavy - 24-gauge galvanized hood with scalloped corners over 18-gauge, 3/4 in expanded mesh on a 14-gauge base
  • Black powder-coat finish holds up on a roof and disappears against a dark chimney
  • Bolts on with C-clamps and a screwdriver; made in the USA
  • Not recommended for coal or oil burning appliances
