Ridge vent is the quiet half of a well-ventilated attic - it runs along the peak under the cap shingles and lets the hot, damp air that collects up there walk out on its own. GAF's Cobra SnowCountry is the version built for weather like ours: external baffles that turn wind-driven rain away and a filter that keeps blowing snow, insects and pine needles from riding in behind it.
